The St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts invites applications for its 2019 Arts Awards
The St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts is pleased to announce that the application process for its 2019 Arts Awards Programme is now open.
Artists and arts organisations in the City of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire) are encouraged to apply for the:
-
Development Award - £3-5,000 for testing something in its very early stages, or contributing to the development of artistic practice
-
Main Award - up to £10,000 for a larger project that is further along in its development.
The St Hugh’s Foundation of the Arts will also be offering an Award of up to £1,000 in memory of previous recipient Claire Peasnall. This Award aims to support artists working mainly as painters, or with drawing, to travel outside the Foundation’s area of benefit in order to create work or develop their practice. The Award has been made possible thanks to a generous donation from Claire’s family.
Our next deadline for first stage applications for all Arts Awards strands will be the 22nd February 2019.
To apply: visit the Awards section of the St Hugh’s Foundation website here: www.sthughsfoundation.co.uk/awards.
Applicants to the Claire Frances Peasnall Memorial Fund will find details of a separate application process online here: www.sthughsfoundation.co.uk/assets/downloads/ClairePeasnallApplicationDetails_FINAL.pdf .
Chair of the St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts Katie Green says, “In 2019 we’re challenging artists to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winners Annabel McCourt (Main Award), and Litha Efthymiou and Martin Scheuregger (Development Award), putting forward their ideas for new artistic projects in only 100 words. We’d love to hear from artists about what they think is most important about the work they want to do, and why they want to do it now.”
Potential applicants are advised to read the full application guidelines in detail, which are available on the Awards section of our website here: www.sthughsfoundation.co.uk/awards
