St Hugh’s Foundation announce more funding opportunities for artists
The St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts is pleased to announce a second round of its ‘Artists Respond’ funding in 2021 to support artists living/working in the City of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire).
The Foundation will be offering 4 grants of £750 to artists of all disciplines, at all stages of their practice. The aim of these grants is to enable selected artists to engage with their practice in whichever form feels most relevant at this challenging time, without the need to produce something at the end.
Using a simpler, single-stage application process, the Foundation is inviting artists to describe what they would do with some time to focus on their practice, reflect on the impact of recent events and maybe consider what their next steps might be.
The deadline for the second round of Artists Respond funding will be the 9th April 2021 at 5pm.
In 2021, the St Hugh’s Foundation of the Arts will also be offering the Claire Frances Peasnall Memorial Award - up to £1,000 in memory of previous award recipient Claire Peasnall.
This Award aims to support artists working mainly as painters, or with drawing, to create new work or develop their practice in some way. For 2021, in the light of ongoing COVID restrictions, we have removed the condition around needing to use this funding to support travel. The Award has been made possible thanks to a generous donation from Claire’s family.
