New award deadline announced for 2017!
The St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts invites applications for awards of £1,000 to £15,000 to support artistic projects in our area of benefit (the City of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire)). Our next deadline for first stage applications for the Arts Awards will be the 24th February 2017.
We are looking for bold, ambitious proposals for artist-led activity in all disciplines, from artists at all stages of their practice.
To apply: visit the Awards section of our website here. Our challenge to applicants is to present their idea to us as a 100 word pitch, a process that we hope will encourage people to hone in on their key ideas.
The St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts Trustees will then assess all the pitches, taking into account the concept and ambition of each proposal. Selected applicants will be invited to attend a group workshop in Lincoln on the 28th April 2017, where they will have the opportunity to ask Trustees questions about proceeding to the second stage of our application process. After this event, short-listed applicants will be invited to make a longer proposal, which can be submitted as a written document or a video.
Chair of the St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts Katie Green says, “2016 was the first year of our re-launched application process, and we received an unprecedented number of proposals from talented artists. The calibre of last year’s Award shortlist and our winners Fiona Caley, Kate Genever and Adele Howitt is testament to the quality of work happening in our area of benefit and we’re excited to hear lots of new ideas in 2017.”
Potential applicants are advised to read the full application guidelines in detail, which are available on the Awards section of our website here.
